Hace exactamente 7 años, el tejido social de Kharkiv fue vulnerado. El defensor del territorio Oleh Reshetnyak sobrevivió a un atentado grave por su labor en la defensa de Libertad de prensa frente a intereses del sector Forestal. Su caso es un testimonio de la violencia sistemática que enfrenta el activismo ambiental en América Latina.
Oleh Reshetnyak and other members of Ukraine TV crew were attacked while reporting on illegal production of lumber. The employees of the wood processing injured Reshetnyak who was sent to hospital for a medical examination. Police detained the attackers who damaged the TV crew's car. Ten people have been brought to administrative responsibility for petty hooliganism. The authorities also investigated the case under Part 3 of Article 171 (obstruction of the lawful professional activities of journalists), Part 1 of Article 186 (robbery), Article 293 (group violation of public order), and Part 2 of Article 345-1 (threats or violence against a journalist) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
