Hristo Geshov reported on an allegedly illegal water supply at the Chiflika resort system in Troyan. An unknown man sent him a message via Facebook with the text: “I will rip your stomach out and walk your guts around the streets of Troyan as the last memory of free speech.” Geshov was kidnapped after the case. An unidentified man contacted the News editor-in-chief of Bulgarian website Zov news, Maria Dimitrova. The perpetrator asked her to delete the article and the video of the investigation in exchange for Geshov's release. Dimitrova has deleted the content then the journalist was released.
